Seasoned Nonprofit Leader to Guide 70-year Community Cornerstone Through Next Phase of Growth & Impact

Stockton, CA; May 13, 2025: St. Mary’s Community Services is pleased to announce that Krista Fiser, MA will join the organization as its new Chief Executive Officer, beginning June 2, 2025.

An accomplished community advocate and leader with deep roots in the San Joaquin Valley, Fiser brings over 15 years of experience leading programs that address homelessness, violence, and poverty. She most recently served as CEO of PREVAIL (formerly Women’s Center–Youth & Family Services), where she launched ten new programs addressing youth homelessness, domestic violence, and human trafficking, while building a resilient, mission-driven team culture. Her work helped PREVAIL expand its impact, diversify funding streams, and solidify its reputation as a regional leader in trauma-informed, housing-focused services.

“St. Mary’s is more than a service provider, it’s a cornerstone of hope in our community,” said Krista Fiser. “This organization’s legacy of walking alongside individuals during their most vulnerable moments resonates deeply with me, as I know firsthand the transformative power of having both basic needs met and someone who believes in your potential for a different future. I’m honored to join the dedicated team at St. Mary’s and lead our next chapter of growth, collaboration, and impact.”

Fiser’s appointment comes at a pivotal time following St. Mary’s 2023 merger with Stockton Shelter for the Homeless. As CEO, she will lead efforts to ensure organizational sustainability, enhance program effectiveness and impact, while building a high-performing, purpose-driven team culture.

“We are thrilled to welcome Krista to St. Mary’s Community Services,” said Danielle Mondo, Board President, St. Mary’s Community Services. “Her track record of leading PREVAIL through growth and community impact is exactly what we need as we continue to build on our legacy. As St. Mary’s continues to be an essential pillar of support in San Joaquin County, Krista’s knowledge, passion, and strategic insights make her the ideal leader to guide us forward and strengthen our role as a place of dignity, stability, and opportunity for all.”

Under Fiser’s leadership, St. Mary’s will continue its tradition of providing essential services and hope to individuals and families facing poverty and homelessness in Stockton.
